WDM® Awarded the Scottish Roads Maintenance Condition Survey Contract

W.D.M. Limited have been awarded the Scottish Roads Maintenance Condition Survey (SRMCS) contract. SRMCS is a collaboration of all 32 Scottish councils, via the Society of Chief Officers in Scotland (SCOTS) and led by Perth and Kinross Council.

The contract is for 4 years, with a possible 3-year extension, and involves surveying all classes of road at differing frequencies (approx. 20,000 km per annum) with the SCANNER vehicle.

WDM® are also contracted to process the SCANNER data each year via UKPMS RCI processing methodology, which uses a UKPMS Weighting Set specific to Scotland, and to output the Scottish Performance Indicator (SPI) for each council.

The Contract also includes the calculation of Backlog and DRC/GRC. In addition, the map-based datasets and map referenced video etc. are published on WDM®’s Web Information Publisher (WIP). This is hosted by WDM® and allows councils to have access to the datasets in an easy-to-use map-based software system to inform their maintenance decisions.
