Visual Inspection Surveys
W.D.M. Limited’s collection of Visual Inspection Survey software is a module within WDM®’s Pavement Management System (PMS) and UKPMS software. It consists of 3 separate aspects which combined provide a full suite of Visual Inspection software for inspectors to use while out on the road or in the office.
Visual Inspection Manager (UKVIM)
WDM® Visual Inspection Manager provides the link between Pavement inspectors to collect condition data. Survey progress can be monitored using the map, report and chart tools common to all WDM® modules.
Visual Inspection Vehicle (UKVIV)
WDM® Visual Inspection Vehicle (UKVIV) is software specifically designed to operate on a laptop PC within a vehicle supplied by the client. With Digital Mapping, data input via touch screen, real time data processing, and the collection rules and survey routes defined by UKVIM, UKVIV provides the solution for CVI collection on large networks.
WDM® supply and install the required vehicle hardware at a separate one-off cost, which is dependent on the client’s choice of vehicle.
Walking Inspection Software (UKWIS)
WDM® Walking Inspection Software is software specifically designed to operate on hand-held Data Capture Devices (DCD), used by client’s inspectors to collect condition data for input into a Pavement Management System, while walking. Using the type of survey and collection rules defined by UKVIM, UKWIS can be used to undertake Coarse Visual Inspection surveys (CVI’s), Detailed Visual Inspection surveys (DVI’s), user defined custom surveys or Footway Network Surveys (FNS’s).
WDM® undertakes CIV, DVI & FNS surveys on behalf of clients and offers training in these survey types.

Footway Network Survey (FNS)
Footway Network Surveys are used as a network condition tool to identify where more detailed information may be required to support and validate treatment decisions and scheme identification; it may also be used on a cyclical basis to identify those parts of the network where more detailed assessment is required.
Centre of Excellence in Accreditation
WDM® is an accreditation centre for Coarse Visual Inspection surveys, Detailed Visual Inspection surveys and Footway Network Surveys, with the ability to provide official assessments and accreditation of client inspectors in the aforementioned survey types.
