Life Cycle Planning (LCP)

WDM’s Life Cycle Planning (LCP) backlog calculator has been updated to calculate carbon costs as part of the analysis. The LCP tool is a key function of the WDM Pavement Management System which uses UKPMS Road Condition Indicators and SCANNER family group data to estimate:
- treatment costs.
- carbon emissions generated from the treatments.
- cost to offset those carbon emissions.
- total cost to clear the backlog with net zero Carbon emissions.
Key features include:
- user definition of intervention based on SCANNER family groups to Red/Amber/Green flags
- multiple user defined Treatments to be triggered by that Red/Amber/Green flag combinations
- user defined unit costs against those treatments both for Financial and Carbon emission per m2
Further work is planned for this winter around Future Strategy Analysis to investigate risk modelling, steady state analysis over a 20-to-25-year cycle.
