Road Networks: Challenges and Sustainability

A Sky TV series of documentaries focusing on the UK’s road networks has featured W.D.M. Limited as an industry-leading expert. ‘Road Networks: Challenges and Sustainability’ tackles the subject of sustainable practices in highway infrastructure and the importance of a reduced carbon initiative in roadway maintenance.

Responding to advances in road safety maintenance techniques and digital technologies that support this, WDM® has introduced the concept of ‘Predictive Maintenance’. This refers to the way technology is being used to measure the quality and integrity of a road surface, and is typically done by analysing data collected by specially designed vehicles to detect problems before they happen.

The technologies, that WDM® utilises to overcome these challenges and find solutions for sustainable planning in roadway maintenance, are the subject of the programme, which next broadcasts on Sky Digital, channel 181, on 12th March.
