Tribute to W.D.M. Chairman John Gardiner

A bench has been installed on Frenchay Common in Bristol in memory of the late WDM chairman, John Gardiner.

Family members and friends gathered to savour the view, which gave Frenchay resident John such enjoyment during his busy career and lifetime.

A plaque has been placed on the bench by fellow members of the Fosters Group, a business lunch club co-founded by John nearly half a century ago, encouraging walkers to share his experience in peace and quiet reflection.

The family group was headed up by John’s son, Chris, who succeeded him as chairman of WDM; Chris’ sister’s, Lyn, Michelle and wife Wendy, plus the next generation– Chris’s children Sam and Stephanie, their partners, and his Grandchildren.

Members of the Fosters Group present included former WDM Marketing Manager, Jon Day, and former HTV news presenter, Bruce Hockin.
