5th International Conference
April 2017
The 5th International SaferRoads Conference will be held in Auckland, New Zealand, in May 2017.
The Conference is run every three years, alternating between the northern and southern hemispheres, and provides a forum for road owners, practitioners and industry experts from across the globe to share ideas, experience and latest technological developments.
Stemming from an idea between New Zealand Transport Agency (previously Transit New Zealand) and W.D.M. Limited, the Conference began with a focus on skid resistance.
The theme of the 2017 Conference is safe and sustainable road surfaces, a deliberately wider theme than previous conferences. The aim is to provide a forum for focusing on all road, highway and runway surfaces, as well as broader infrastructure asset management and sustainability.
Since the inaugural event in 2005, SaferRoads has grown to be one of the key industry forums for innovation in the sector and it has played a critical role in improving the performance, sustainability and safety of road surfaces across the world.
The 2017 Conference will take place at Auckland’s Viaduct Events Centre from May 21 – 24. For further information, visit www.saferroads.co.nz
WDM® also maintains an archive website www.saferroadsconference.com where papers and presentations from previous conferences are available as a library resource.
