Going for Gold

Just a few months after starting to use specialist software from W.D.M. Limited, a County Council has won a Gold Award for its National Street Gazetteer database.

Oxfordshire County Council was presented with the gold performance award for street data at the annual GeoPlace Exemplar Awards ceremony at Edgbaston cricket club.

The Council started using WDM’s National Street Gazetteer software earlier this year, which helped it maintain gold standard despite pressures of reorganisation and the Highways Infrastructure Asset Management System.

GeoPlace is a partnership between the Local Government Association and Ordnance Survey and maintains a national infrastructure that supports the address and street information of the public and private sectors.

Anna Fitzgerald, the Highways Systems Manager at Oxfordshire County Council, said: “The team have worked through some very challenging technical issues to ensure the data fully supports our statutory obligations for Street Works and is in a state to support other projects going forward such as Highway Record Digitisation and the Highways Infrastructure Asset Management System.
